Cookie policy

The short version: Roads of Adventure sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising cookies.

This page describes what the site actually does, in plain language. It is not legal advice. If anything here does not match what you see on the site, tell us and we will correct it.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser. Local storage and session storage do a similar job, so this page covers them too.

Cookies this site sets

None. The site does not set cookies and does not use local storage or session storage.

  • The language you choose (EN or БГ) is part of the page address, not a cookie.
  • Fonts are served from this site itself, so your browser does not contact Google or any other font service.
  • There are no ads, no social media buttons, no comment system and no embedded videos or maps from other companies.

Security cookies from our host

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To protect it from bots and attacks, Cloudflare may sometimes place a strictly necessary security cookie in your browser:

__cf_bm
Helps Cloudflare tell people from automated bots when bot protection is switched on. It expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
cf_clearance
Remembers that your browser passed a Cloudflare security check, so you are not asked again. It is only set if you were shown a check.

These cookies do not identify you, are not used for advertising and are not shared with us. Because they are needed to deliver the site securely, they do not require your consent. Cloudflare explains them in its cookie documentation.

Visit statistics

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless: it sets no cookie, stores nothing in your browser and does not follow you to other websites. More in our privacy policy.

The Travelpayouts script

Every page also loads a script from Travelpayouts, the affiliate network we work with. It is needed to confirm that this site is ours and to count page visits and clicks on affiliate links. All of its automatic features are switched off, so it does not add links, boxes or adverts to our pages. Travelpayouts states that the script does not collect personal data. If it stores anything in your browser, we will list it on this page.

Affiliate links

Some of our links are affiliate links, through Travelpayouts and CJ Affiliate (for Booking.com). For those links:

  • If you click an affiliate link and go to the partner's website, that company may set a cookie on its own website to record that you came from us. This is how we earn a small commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. That cookie is set by them, under their own cookie policy, not by us.
  • If we ever add a partner's booking box or widget to one of our pages, it could set cookies on this site. Before that happens we will update this page, list those cookies, and ask for your consent first for anything that is not strictly necessary.

Which companies we work with is listed in our affiliate disclosure.

How to control cookies

You can see, delete or block cookies in your browser's settings. The site works the same without them. If you block Cloudflare's security cookies, you may simply be asked to pass a security check more often.
